Service Description

For the summer! Non-heated class. Nurturing Yin to Yang Yoga is a slow practice that is both calming and energizing, nurturing the mind, body and soul. This class combines both active (yang) and restoring (yin) practices for the body that leave you feeling grounded and balanced. Nurturing Yoga is designed to gently work and open the body, and relax and calm the busy mind. This class builds like a traditional flow class with no vinyasa movements (chatturangas or repetitive/fast sequences). We'll start class with a yin posture that we hold for 5 minutes or so, followed by some warmup movement (cat cows, spinal balance, standing forward fold) then move into yoga poses designed to open the body to prepare for a peak pose.  This class mirrors a traditional flow class with a lot of stretching/flexibility movement and some strength/balance, ending with a cool down (spinal twists, bridge, etc) and savasana. Yin postures are incorporated at the beginning and end of class to help open the body and connect to your breath.
