Join Join Lourdes Wiley, MS, RN, LMT, RYT as she hosts our Yoga for Stress, Anxiety and Depression workshop. Chronic stress, anxiety and depression afflict many of us and our loved ones at some point in our lives and can sometimes intensify around the holiday season. In the last two decades, we have learned much about how dysregulation of our nervous system in response to chronic stress and trauma contributes to these challenges that can affect our mental and physical health. This workshop will help simplify and demystify the nervous system response to stress and trauma through the lens of polyvagal theory. We will explore simple and powerful tools to improve resilience and emotional regulation through use of the breath, simple meditative practices, and gentle yoga postures. We will work with a combination of trauma-informed yoga practices as well as HeartMathⓇ techniques. These evidence-based tools can be practiced by anyone- no yoga experience necessary! The goal is to leave you with a toolbox of easy-to-use practices to calm, balance, and restore your nervous system even when you only have a few minutes in the day. Please bring a notebook and pen, yoga mat, water bottle, and any other items for your comfort.
