The Beauty of New Moon Circles

Over the years, Buka has hosted a number of New Moon Circles for our members and friends, often in conjunction with our buddy Hannah and Wildmoon Alchemy. These are amazing opportunities to gather and celebrate fresh starts.
That's what new moons are—a celestial reset button. It is a powerful time to look at old habits, beliefs, and behaviors to determine what no longer serves you as you prepare for the next cycle. How true to yoga is that?
Here are a few highlights from recent New Moon Circles. Check out our schedule and join us for the next one!

New Moon Leo at Rhyolite Park in Castle Rock
As the king of the jungle, Leo calls us into action and pride. This circle focuses on letting go of insecurities and trusting in your own strength. Rituals often include nourishing your fire with herbs like Hibiscus and Aloe to balance the summer heat.

New Moon Scorpio at Buka Yoga, where we focused on gratitude, created our cornucopias of thanks, and ended with a sound bath.
The Scorpio moon is deep and introspective. It is a potent time for shadow work, or self-healing by understanding and moving on from the past. We focus on the Root Chakra to feel provided for and secure during the emotional waves of the holiday season.

New Moon Capricorn at Buka Yoga for setting intentions, astrological charts, and what the year holds for us.
The Capricorn New Moon represents a powerful celestial reset focused on discipline, ambition, and the long-term structures of our lives. Capricorn energy encourages us to move beyond mere visioning and instead roll up our sleeves to do the practical work of building a sustainable foundation. It is an ideal time to set intentions around career, financial stability, and personal responsibility, asking ourselves what we are truly willing to become over time.

New Moon Virgo at The Rock in Castle Rock
Virgo inspires us to analyze how our physical habits, like what we eat, affect our emotional states. During this transition into fall, we begin to ground ourselves with root vegetables and commit to small, dedicated daily routines.
